We may have let you all know how excited we are for this new year of everything bridal and wedding, but we haven’t said why. There is so many wedding ideas to look forward too, including every moment of your special day.
As traditions continued to be manipulated to suit that of the couple, whilst innovative ideas have been brought to the wedding front, new and exciting forecasts have been made for those getting married in 2016. Whether you are in the early stages, or nearing the end of your wedding planning process, these wedding ideas may help give you extra inspiration.
Out with the wedding cake
The humble wedding cake is expected to soon be a thing of the past for those wanting something different. Pudding cakes are set to take their place, consisting of cakes which double up as a dessert to form a third course of a wedding breakfast. The likes of a tiered cheesecake or a tiered apple crumble; it’ll still look the part for your pictures, but also do the job as a show-stopping dessert.
Another big trend for 2016 is ‘Instagram Interiors’ – styling your venue with specific thought to making it look ‘Instagrammable’. The social media tool has become a huge influencer when it comes to trends, including the likes of vintage bikes acting as flower stands and illuminated signs. All with wedding hashtags for guests to use online.
Bringing the wild inside
This year, weddings are set to embrace the theme of bringing the outdoors in, stepping away from the usual floral bouquet in favour of less structured ‘wild’ floral focal points. Try dried flowers, heather, ivy vines and gathered wildflower posies – to give your wedding a more rustic feel.
Many couples are looking for ways in which their big day can really on a show for guests, and elements of the theatrical are set to become more popular. Large scale banquet and feasting platters, fun food like suckling pigs, as well as theatre performers are all good ideas.
